Angelina Jordan Version Of Billie Holiday Gloomy Sunday Bumps Up To Almost 300.000 Visitors In 24 Hours

It was last thursday the little girl from Norway Angelina Jordan entered the audition with her amazing performance of the Billie Holiday hit from 1941 Gloomy Sunday.

numerous uploads also hit the internet destination Youtube 

 

The video went totally viral and has been posted since on hundreds of blogs such as Dailypicksandflicks

Theblaze and many other.

 

Jordan found the song on youtube one night when she couldn`t sleep.  

She  borrowed mum's iPad where she would listen to jazz on YouTube before she fell asleep.

  Jordan explained that she was surfing YouTube one night and came across Holiday’s beloved “Gloomy Sunday.” She was in love with it.

 

- It was like a beautiful dream -

- You never know, but the heart said "yes, you go ahead," so it was amazing that I was able to convince the judges and the audience stood up when I finished singing. I do not know, I'm a different person when I sing. It was like a beautiful dream, she said to TV 2

Angelina got international attention after her performance in Norwegian Talents this week

Angelina Jordan Astar ( 8) is one of the participants who asked for " Norwegian Talents" audition in Oslo.Angelina's talent is singing and in her audition , she choose to sing the Hungarian song " Gloomy Sunday ", which was written in 1933 and that Billie Holiday had a big hit with in 1941.

- The reason I chose this song is totally random . I love jazz , but " Gloomy Sunday " was accidental. It was a night I could not sleep and my mom was stressed that I was awake long after midnight . Then I borrowed mum's iPad where I would listen to jazz on YouTube before I fell asleep . Then came a picture of a beautiful lady screaming at the sky and closed eyes. I am talking about jazz queen Billie Holiday, she said to the norwegian television channel TV 2.



 I heard the song " Glommy Sunday " that night and then I had to hear it every day . I love the melody. I understood very well what the text was about because I understand english. Every time I sang it , I felt something special about it, it 's hard to explain in words. When I sang it for my mom , she said that this song is nice , but it was a incredibly sad song.

It is clear that the judges liked what they heard. What Mia and her colleagues Judge Omer Bhatti , Bjarte Hjelmeland and Barrel Lisa says to her after the performance was an undisputed unified big YES. 

Despite her young age , she has already managed to take music and singing lessons for four years. There is little doubt that Angelina finds great joy in singing .- I sing differently, but love to sing everything from Nancy Sinatra, Shirley Bassey and Julia London
   Mia, Omer , Lisa and Woody are judges I have great respect for. I know why they sit there and judge in "Norwegian Talents" it is not because they look good , but because they have super talent themselves and therefore can judge other talents. Singing is my passion. I was convinced that my love is big enough to sing. -
